Are There Really People With Zero Creativity?

What is Creativity? I don’t believe that can be answered. I mean seriously how do you explain it. The quality or ability to create or invent something.

I am sitting here with two people of my generation for an interview and both combined can’t fill up the creativity I have in one foot. I mean, I know I am quite conceited. My main reason of saying this is because I am sitting here questioning, wondering if they really have no training or is it just that I can’t see it because of its uniqueness.

I creatively see flaws in everything, I find new ways of bringing life to tired outfits. I mean I am writing this piece while having the migraine of the year and battling nausea and vertigo, conducting the interview for the two individuals that evoke this thought in my head. Yet here I sit looking at them and I see no creativity in them or rather I should say, I see none of my creativity in them (look at me being very P.C.).

So to all of you out there taking your time to read some of my flawed words I pose this question to you all; How do you find that spark of creativity in another for an aspect you lack? Can you find something that you never had and are there truly people out there that have zero creativity?

Oh dear. I guess those are three questions.

The Creative Narcissist.

The idea of creativity is subjective; you may find that your “creative” idea is actually commonplace in another society/environment. Think of traditional Nigerian attires. Wearing them here doesn’t make one “creative” per se, because it’s commonplace, but wearing a simple dashiki in Paris turns one into a “fashionista.”You may also find that you’re creative with words but then you can’t paint or dance, so are you truly creative or just good with words? A “creative” person is one who constantly finds new ways of doing old things, or even discovers completely new things to do. Some people, by birth or through training over time, can connect ideas that seem unrelated to each other and make something new, so we often call them creative. I believe that the more information or ideas you’re exposed to the more connections between them you can make. Thus, a person who has read a wide variety of books may be “creative” with words because she can connect them in ways you haven’t even imagined.
I don’t think it’s possible to have zero creativity; one perhaps may not be as creative as others are, but it doesn’t mean he has no creativity at all. Also, Being creative extends beyond the arts;engineers have to be creative, so do lawyers, teachers, nurses, drivers etc. In some way, we all must employ some creativity to solve tough problems once in a while.

I agree with you @toni . I do not believe anyone has zero creativity. The fact that the two individuals you are interviewing do not have “YOUR” creativity does not mean they do not have theirs.
Even the bread seller on the road needs to be creative in order to sell her bread and beat competition.

I think your creativ-o-meter is faulty? Two people with shaky legs and sweaty palms, thinking of the piling up bills while trying their best to impress you won’t be functioning at full capacity. I agree that some people are more logical than creative, but there is creativity in everyone.

I believe people are creative in different aspects. So it’s not really possible to have zero creativity. Though sometimes people are honed to dampen their creativity and go with the trend, because sometimes being different is scary.
It’s unfair to dismiss someone just because they do not seem to be as creative as you. They are probably more creative than you in several other aspects.
