Hey Guys, Toolsman here to make a special announcement.

Thank you, guys.

The TNC family and readers.

I need to say that first.

So now the news…

For four years, TNC has entertained, engaged and enlightened you guys with stories published here. From Betty Tuesdays to The Alchemists Corner, Thursday Series to Art Stories, we have shared stories of life, of love, of being Nigerian and much more.

We have also discovered new talent by working with First Bank as well as Tolu Ogunlesi, Eghosa Imaseun, Seun Salami, Myne Whitman, Chude Jideonwo and other key Nigerian literary figures on the acclaimed The Writer Competition. Now, we have tapped into all that experience and learning to bring you the first TNC book. An Anthology of stories that focus on the impact that words, in particular, the things we say (or don’t say) can have on our lives and relationships.

The book is titled “These Words Expose Us: An Anthology” and it features stories by TNC in-house writers like Wole Talabi (The Alchemist), PemiAguda (Betty), Myself (The Toolsman), Marilyn Eshikena and 2014 The Writer Competition winner, Pamela NaakiTetteh. We also have stories from acclaimed friends and affiliated writers like Uche Okonkwo, Osemhen Akhibi, Chioma Odukwe, Edwin Okolo, Wale Lawal, Bankole Oluwole, 2012 ‘The Writer’ competition winner Kiah and 2014’s runner up Gbolahan Adeola. The cover design was done by TNC in-house art stories columnist Tokunbo Aworinde (0Toxic).

We have all drawn from our experiences and ideas to create this unique collection.

The stories are of varying lengths and styles, ensuring that you really don’t know what to expect every time you turn the page, bringing an enjoyable element of surprise.

There is a story in there for everyone.

According to Atoke of Bellanaija, “…the stories in this anthology take snippets of everyday life and blow them up. We see our triumphs and our failings, our losses and our gains. We see the fragility of humanity behind the cloak of societal expectations.”

Tokunbo and Osemhen were on Titi’s On Air Book Club (A weekly on air book club show on Inspiration 92.3fm, Friday’s at 10:30am) last Friday. The host @titithedynamite read from the book and had some really exciting things to say about it. Seun Salami, author of ‘The Son of Your Fathers Concubine’ and judge on The Writer Competition said of the reading “It takes you on a journey, it elevates you..”.

  1. Ngor...
    I have two questions;
    1. How can I get a hard copy? (I'm old school like that)
    2. Where did the cover girl get her bikini wax? ( ._.)

    This is inspiring more than anything else… I'm so proud of you guys! Well done ^_^

      The writers are scattered all over the planet so that might be a bit tricky. But we will see about making a special few autographed copies as Christmas special offers. Let me look into it and talk with them. Thanks for the idea.
