Power Failure: An Ode To NEPA (Yes, NEPA!)

I am in the dark-yet another bout of power failure.

I sigh, my shoulders droop, my hope runs out of the door.

Nigeria, how much more of this could I possibly endure?

My patriotism these days is quite difficult to conjure,

I have known about NEPA’s inefficiency since I was aged four.

Should I settle for this mediocrity, or should I demand for more?

The sound of shuddering generators is now mental torture.

How can I hope to fly high in the midst of weak infrastructure?

But as usual, I shrug, I’ve ridden this train of thought before.

Despite NEPA’s hiccups, I will achieve my life goals with flying colours.

I have been feeling like this for a while now. Patriotism is totally down the drain. Good write-up.
